One of my favorite quilt patterns is the Orange Peel. Here's an intriguing historical tidbit for enthusiasts: Legend has it that the inspiration behind the orange peel design can be traced back to a Frenchman named Marquis de Lafayette. During a celebration of American independence, Marquis sliced an orange into quarters and removed the peels. It's said that these peels caught the attention of a guest at the party, who happened to be a quilter, leading to the creation of the first orange peel quilt pattern.
